The Pilote Essentiel 740 is a lovely looking motorhome, ideal for couples touring in luxury, but can also accommodate a couple of additional travellers utilising the ‘pop-up’ travel seats. It is packed full of features to make every journey away an absolute pleasure.
The lounge has a very comfortable feel to it, with cream furnishings and high gloss cabinets, there is plenty of room around the folding table for entertaining, or just kicking back and watching the television. The lounge seating can be transformed at night to accommodate a small double bed.
The mid-kitchen is impressively equipped so you have all the facilities you need to rustle up a snack or prepare the evening meal; there is a 3-burner hob, combination oven, large fridge with separate freezer compartment, sink and plenty of storage for your culinary requirements.
Moving rearwards the washroom is split across both sides of the motorhome. On the nearside there is a large separate shower with Perspex screen doors and on the offside there is a Thetford cassette toilet with electric flush, a stylish bathroom cabinet for your toiletries, a mirror and a wash basin with a mixer tap. This area can be enclosed with wooden doors for privacy.
At the rear of the motorhome is a fabulous bedroom with the hugely desirable island bed. Unlike many, there is a good walk-space on either side to get in and out of bed. Hanging wardrobes flank the bed and there are drawers beneath.
Storage is never going to be a problem with this van – as we move outside the stand-out feature is the huge garage, which can be made even bigger by raising the electronic bed. There is also a skirt locker for dirty kit.
The high specification continues with a Thule Omnistor wind-out awning, BBQ point, solar panel twinned to a 120ah Lithium battery, Gaslow LPG system, tow-bar, 2-cycle rack and rear air-suspension.
Up front the motorhome is based on the 140bhp Fiat Ducato Euro-6 chassis offering a smooth journey to your destination. The cab is fitted with cruise control, air-conditioning and Pioneer multimedia system with DAB, phone connection and Air-Play/Android Auto.
