Another brilliant motorhome from Chausson, the 640 First Line. This motorhome packs a lot in a small space with the usual clever design features from the people at Chausson. The motorhome feels not only very spacious but has plenty of storage where others lack. Based on the ever popular Ford Transit chassis this 2.0 Turbo diesel engine the unit gives an ample 130bhp it also benefits from Ad Blue & a six speed manual gearbox. With 1 owner from new it’s not due its first mechanical service, but has had its first Hab check recently. The cab benefits from: air conditioning manual; cruise control & speed limiter; multi function steering wheel; dab radio head unit; Bluetooth phone & streaming; electric windows front; electric adjustable & heated mirrors; reverse camera screen in place of rear view mirror.
We enter the vehicle on the drivers side immediately to the right of the habitation door is the dinette which consists of two opposing two seater sofas either side of the gangway. The table position IS offset to the passenger side but can be moved to centralise, it folds in the middle for easy access moving fore or aft. The front two seats rotate to join this area so you could easily seat 6 people around the table if entertaining on site. At night the table can drop down to make this area into an additional double bed with the use of infill cushions. Two travelling seats can ALSO be found below the sofa bases with lap & diagonal belts.
Over the Dinette is the main large double bed this electrically drops down from above and can be used at sofa height or if you have guests staying it can be used at ladder height. The benefit of this bed is that it can be left made up for ease of use.
Moving rear is the galley style kitchen which has an extendible work surface. There is a full size Thetford oven & grill with a 3 burner multi fuel hob one of which being a 240v hotplate for use when plugged in on site. There is plenty of cupboard and drawer space for all your holiday provisions. Opposite is a large Thetford absorber style fridge with separate freezer box this can be powered by 240v,12v or gas depending on whether you are wild camping or plugged in in site. Above the fridge is a small cupboard and to the right a TV bracket and services.
Finally to the rear is the full width bathroom this can be closed of with a tambour door. On the drivers side is the Thetford Fresh water flush cassette style toilet with modern bowl shaped sink and chrome mixer tap above. One of the main features is the centrally situated large storage cupboard with built in drawers, hanging rail & shelves. Below this there is an access door into the garage. On the opposite side to the toilet is the large separate shower cubicle which can be shut off with smoked Perspex doors there is a chrome mixer; chrome riser & shower head.
Heating is supplied by a Webasto diesel powered blown air system, Hot water by a gas & electric powered Truma boiler.
